Preparation steps

01 • Prepare and preheat brewing equipment

0:00

Insert paper filter into the V60 cone and rinse thoroughly with 150 ml hot water to eliminate paper taste and preheat the glass carafe. Discard rinse water.

Observations and deviations: to be logged in lab trial.

02 • Add ground coffee and inspect grind consistency

0:15

Dose 15 g of medium-fine coffee onto the digital scale. Gently shake to level the bed and form a subtle central indentation for even saturation.

Observations and deviations: to be logged in lab trial.

03 • Execute pre-infusion bloom and record response

0:45

Gently pour 45 g of water at 92 °C outward in slow spirals. Allow 45 seconds for degassing to ensure maximum solubles yield.

Observations and deviations: to be logged in lab trial.

04 • Complete laminar pour and observe drawdown

2:45

Pour continuously in controlled circles up to 250 g total by 1:45. Allow natural gravitational drawdown to finish between 2:30 and 2:45.

Observations and deviations: to be logged in lab trial.

Laboratory recommendations

  • Use soft mineral brew water (70–120 ppm) to enhance delicate aromatic notes.
  • If drawdown exceeds 3:00 minutes, coarsen the grind slightly to prevent astringency.
